2018 is just about to an end. Have you started thinking about New Year Resolutions for your business? If you have not do not worry because I am going to list my top 5 resolutions for anyone starting a new business.
Resolutions can truly be anything and they can be as simple as a new goal for your business or something that you want to change. I think that too many people put so much thought into resolutions. Resolutions are just making a change in something. It is that simple.
Do New Year Resolutions really work?
Before I really dive into this subject and why I think setting New Year Resolutions for your business is so important to let’s just answer this question. Heck yes, they work! But…..they will only work if you make the changes set out to reach the resolution.
When I set resolutions for my businesses I make sure that they are attainable resolutions and ones that will help my business grow. Because realistically this is why we are setting goals or resolutions if that is what you want to call them. I like to consider my resolutions as Goals.
“Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one.” Brad Paisley
One of the GREAT things about setting New Year Resolutions for your business is:
One of the best things of the New Year is being able to kind of start a whole new clean slate. I use the New Year to regroup and refocus on my businesses and set out a whole new action plan. I like to think of it as a whole new clean slate even though it may not be.
Remember that your New Year Resolutions for your business will only be effective if you put the hard work and time in. Hard work, effort, and action will help you and your business grow.
So after you read this blog post I want you to take some time and write down all the new things you want to accomplish in 2019. Also, keep note of what did not work in 2018 and put it behind you and start fresh.
Now let’s get into the great amazing content to help you set some resolutions for your business.
“You are amazing and great, the only thing holding you back is you.”
Always remember those words because I was taught by my mentors and that saying is so true, we hold ourselves back far too much and we stunt the growth of our business.
Resolution #1 | Set up your Business Plan & Strategy
If you do not have a business plan in place for your business or do not have a strategy I highly suggest that you do this right from the beginning in 2019. Having a plan will help you and your business stay on track.

Resolution #2 | Provide value to your perfect audience
Now, this is a resolution that \i have on my list each and every year. Really learn what it is that your target audience needs from you. Learn how to solve their problems and pains. No matter what business you are in you have to know why your audience needs your services and or products.
By providing your audience the value that they need to solve a pain or problem, you will begin to build the trust and relationships. I often get asked how I land clients, make sales and bring in revenue. Well, it is simple once you truly figure out what your audience needs and wants.
Try doing a poll on social media to see what your audience needs from you to help them.
Doing research and asking will help you cater to your perfect customer.
Resolution #3 | Make sure your Website/Blog is running fast and smooth
Now in today’s world, there is no reason your website/blog should not be quick and run smoothly. Make sure that you are using a great hosting company. I build the majority of my clients’ websites on BlueHost because they are rated #1 when it comes to website hosting. If you do not have a website or blog I highly recommend that you get one. Do not worry if you do not know how to start a blog website I have a page on my website that can help you. Blogging has been amazing for my businesses and I truly believe it can help yours as well. Check out my “How To Start A Blog” page and get started today.
Resolution #4 | Set your Goals for your business by month and quarter
Have your goals set out right from the beginning. I use weekly goals as well but I highly suggest at least using monthly and quarterly goals. Make sure to break down the steps that you will need to reach those goals for your business.
Having goals is only one part, next you need to create the action steps that you will need to reach those goals. For example: if you want to bring in $1000 in sales break that down buy how much sales you need to make per day, per week etc. Now ask yourself how are you going to make those sales. How many contacts and leads should you been getting in touch with.
Resolution #5 | Be true to yourself and your business
Now this one may not seem like it should be a resolution but I have come across and even been that person who did not know what direction they were taking in their business. We see so many others out there crushing their business and then we find ourselves not being true to ourselves. We try to do the things the way they are doing it and not being ourselves.
People buy and join a business from people that they know, like and trust. Even though there are thousands and thousands of people doing what you are doing, remember that they are joining or buying from you for being yourself. We are all unique in our own ways, we all have our own style. So use your uniqueness and find the people who want to be your customer.
Now, remember that 2019 is just a couple weeks away. Start planning your 2019 now and be ahead of the game.
